キャットパワー(CAT POWER)は、2022年1月14日にDominoからニューアルバム『COVERS』をリリース。2018年の『Wanderer』以来のアルバムとなります。
収録曲の中から、「Bad Religion (Frank Ocean Cover)」、「A Pair of Brown Eyes(The Pogues Cover)」の二曲が配信開始。また、ジェームズ・コーデンが司会を務めるアメリカの深夜トーク番組＜Late Late Show with James Corden＞の映像も公開され、「Bad Religion (Frank Ocean Cover)」の演奏とインタビューが観られます。
『COVERS』 はタイトル通りカバーアルバム。Frank Ocean、Bob Seger、Jackson Browne、Iggy Pop、The Pogues、TheReplacements、Nick Caveなどの曲を再構築、ラストはBillie Holidayの「I’ll BeSeeingYou」で締めくられています。彼女のキャリアの中では2000年の『The Covers Record』、2008年の『Jukebox』に次ぐ3枚目のカバーアルバムになります。
